About Mary’s Childhood

The Holy Spirit flowed freely in Mary’s family from her birth. At four years old, her sister had a major miracle and Mary witnessed God performing many miracles since. Mary’s father was a revivalist in the 1960’s and her mother was an evangelist. They were leaders in the faith, strong advocates of the charismatic component of Christianity, and were instrumental in the genesis of the “Duquesne Outpouring”. As a child in the early 1960’s, her parents read to her books by C.S. Lewis and “The Seven Storey Mountain” by Thomas Merton (1948). Mary recalls, “We never were read children’s versions! We sang scripture and the bible was read to us in chapters, not in verses.“

Mary’s most recent book “Seven Silver Coins” is a look at the bright and beautiful future God has planned for us. It is about the New Era Mountains. God is tearing down the baal-worshiping mountains of the past and is helping His children build the new mountains. In this new vision of freedom, Mary Leonard received new names for the mountains of influence – Abundance, Faith, Relationships, Communication, Responsibility, Arts and Understanding. In this book we explore this new freedom.

The cover is a portion of her painting “Symphony in Heaven” Mary did 15 years ago. It represents the color, sound and shape of the glorious worship in heaven. The book “Seven Silver Coins” contains the black and white representations of painting from her Testimony Collection. The original full color paintings are found on her website, www.2mea.com

Her book is a remembrance of short encounters with God, Jesus and Holy Spirit. It includes a few of her prophetic words from the past and her most recent one on the freedom that is coming. It is an optimistic look at the building of the new era mountains.

Mary's painting style is an unusually simple, still profoundly complex, abstraction of the unknown yet known. She is grateful for her deeper growth through Mariahsachin Holy Spirit painting. With a renewed sense of spiritual awareness, she takes chaos to order in her paintings.

At the age of eleven Mary became a worship leader at her local church and continued for five years. Mary sold her first painting (a large 3’ by 4’ piece) to a hospital at the age of twelve. Her first one-woman show was at thirteen. She competed in many art shows both nationally and internationally. Mary is grateful for each of her many honors, winning Best in Shows, First Places and other awards through the years.

Currently she is selling her work at Independence Gallery on 4th St in Loveland, CO. Her work has been in galleries in Ohio, Colorado, and Washington as well as in art museums.

She had two pieces exhibited at the "Nagasaki Peace Museum" in Japan. Her work was featured in a contemporary art museum (MOCA) in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was privileged to publicly demonstrate her Mariahsachin style in a public venue prior to the MOCA exhibit. At the Denver Art District she had two exhibits: "Abstraction of the Soul" and "Seeing with the Inner Eye".

Mary was honored to receive an art grant to create a competition within the Ebey's Landing National Historical Reserve resulting in 18 sculpture gardens in downtown Coupeville, Washington.

Commercially her first piece was sold in 1969 to a hospital collection. The Town of Parker has her work "The Spa" in their permanent town collection (a donation from the world-famous artist Tadashi Hayakawa). Other hospitals in Washington and along the Colorado Front Range acquired her work, most recently “Healing” to Denver’s Porter Hospital.

Mary Leonard teaches and paints the Mariahsachin technique with textured acrylic, vivid color and pure raw emotion that wants to take you on a journey to your soul. She also enjoys mixed media and oil paints. She plans to continue painting, traveling with her art and teaching her technique.

Released in 2015 her book “God’s Little Princess” gives her much joy. “God’s Little Princess” is now available in hardback and as an eBook. Her latest book “Seven Silver Coins” was released October 7, 2022. It is available at Barnes and Noble, Amazon, as well as at her website, www.2mea.com

Mary Leonard’s style is unusually simple but yet profoundly complex abstracts of the unknown yet known. With honor and respect for Spirit, she sees the unknown interpreted as art, with ethereal joy and an honest intuitive style of painting. It is her desire to express voice and soul in paint. She paints the fruits of life like joy, hope and peace in a tangible way. Mary believes art is a spiritual language.

Mary founded Mariahsachin spirit painting in 1969. She enjoys painting in sets of themes she calls “collections”. Her creative style focuses on the “voice of the painting” with spiritual awareness turning chaos into order, expressed in bold bright colors. Mary recently has been working on the “Testimony Collection.” She has found that telling the stories and sharing the joys of miracles is exhilarating.

Mary likes to take on large challenges such as the “Testimony Collection”, the eighteen “Sculpture Gardens” on Whidbey Island WA, and the book “God Factor in Recovery” are working together to become a lecture tour.

Her first love is teaching the Mariahsachin lifestyle as a spiritual coach, helping people find their creativity in painting. Students learn how to hear, feel, know and see God in everything and then express those feelings in their paintings. It is overwhelming to look back at 50+ years and to see the impact on individuals and communities through your personal expression of voice.

Painting for audiences is the best part of my practice she says. Painting in a collection set is a way I explore a subject in depth. Developing art through praise and worship is the highest form of the creation process. I enjoy spreading the fruits of life freely while expressing my voice and heart into my art.
